Review: Biore Baking Soda Cleansers

I received the new Biore Baking Soda Cleansers last month from Influenster  but I didn't get a chance to test the products out till this month because I was on vacation in Asia! The baking soda line should be on the shelves of most stores by now, I have recently seen it as Shoppers Drugmart! From what I know, there are currently 2 products in the line: a gel like cleanser with exfoliates and a baking soda scrub. For more information you can visit the Biore website!

Review: Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara

I received Covergirls' Full Lash Bloom Mascara from Bzzagent for reviewing and testing purposes, the package also came with coupong which I gave away! I have the Clump crusher which I really enjoy using so I chose to try the Full Lash Bloom. This mascara claims that it is supposed to give full soft lashes! I was hoping this would be a dupe for one of my favourite mascaras that got discontinued, Maybelline's Full n' Soft. I was looking for a mascara that made my lashes feel soft as if I wasn't wearing a lot yet give them volume. 

Bleaching & Toning my hair!

I bought 2 boxes of Freshlight bleach from Japan this past summer they were only 500 yen each, its about $15-$18 cad at pacific mall, major price markup! I chose the lightest bleach there was, i believe that there are 3 levels of bleaches, unfortunately I don't have any pictures and I don't know the exact names of the boxes but I', sure there is information about them online!

Review: Smith's Rosebud Salve Balm

I purchased the Smith's Rosebud salve balm from Sephora for about $8, I always saw Rosebud salve in the check out area and finally decided to try it out. There are many great reviews on Sephora, customer' average rating is about 4.5 out of 5 stars! I bought the tube version as it is easier and not as messy as applying it with the fingers!

Review: Daiso Pore Care Pack

I bought this Daiso Pore Care Pack during my trip to Los Angeles last year, I finally decided to try it out when I ran out of my favourite Biore Nose Strips. They have the same concept at the Biore Strips and many other products pertaining to the removal of black heads on the nose! I have a another review on nose strips by The Face Shop here!

 

Daiso is a 100 Yen Store in Japan where it originated from, its basically a dollar store but not in North America (Canada & US). It is more along the lines of $1.50 to $3 Store, they have a great variety of things. The only Daiso' in Canada are located in British Columbia and Eastern parts of the US, there is an abundance of locations in Asian though.

 

I purchased this 4 pack for $1.50 in the Daiso located in the Korean district of Los Angeles. These are a steal compared to the Biore ones. These nose strips are made of natural charcoal as the package claims, which is supposed to be good for the skin.

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
My least expensive beauty products are the Bonnebell Lipglosses that I bought for $1 during an inventory clearance sale at Shoppers Drugmart!
The most expensive item I have is the Guerlain Meteorites Powder at $68, I own Clair 02 and use it daily as my highlighter! I absolutely love this stuff!

Cheap Finds: The Body Shop

I was walking around Eaton Centre, there are some good sales around this time of year!

The Body Shop has some great deals, 50% off all seasonal merchandise, some include limited edition scents as well. Some of the makeup is on sale as well, but nothing really caught except the blushes that I have right here. They were $20, but now they are only $2, however there's only a few left!

The lighting is quite back but I grabbed a hot pink shade called 01 Petal, the other is a coral shade call 02 Coral. I actually love the clear case, its cute and simple.

Review: The Face Shop Charcoal Nose Strip

Hello! Today I will be doing a quick review of The Face Shop's Black Head Charcoal Nose Strip!

I actually received this little guy as a sample from one of my online makeup orders from Korea. 

I typically use the Biore Nose Strips as they are more accessible, and quite pricey in my opinion. 

If I was too ensure that the nose strips are most effectively used I typically use a clay mask before hand to suck up all the oils from my face, especially the nose area as it is the oiliest. After I clean the mask off my face, the white heads on my nose become quite visible (nasty I know!) That is when I use a nose strip, It rips off everything! If I just use the nose strip without masking before hand it take out about half of the white heads and black heads.     

 

[Haul] Second ELF purchase

My first ELF order was just a set of the studio line brushes, I haven't actually used any of the ELF makeup lines before!  I hear lots of great things about it, first of all it's very inexpensive starting from $1! I'm happy that there is free shipping with a purchase of $35 worth of items, however for Canadians you still have to pay shipping, but instead you pay half of the original shipping price (which is the total shipping price for US residents). Also I bought my items during an additional promotion, where if you make a purchase over $25 you get a free Geo Glam kit/collection. 

This included a pink dump bag, 30 piece geometric eye shadow book, 6 piece geometric  palette, Studio line mascara, eyelid primer, liquid eyeliner and individual eyelash kit.

[Haul] Bonnebell lip products

A few days ago I noticed that Bonnebell cosmetics (best known for amazing scented Lip Smackers) is being cleared from Shopper Drugmarts' shelves, prices should be the same throughout all the stores! The prices range from $0.62 to $4.00! It's a pretty good deal, I rarely every see Bonnebell on sale for these prices in Toronto!  From what I know, Bonnebell is being replaced by New York Color, this doesn't mean Bonnebell is forever gone, I think they will still be available at Wal-Mart.This was also a great opportunity to stock up on my favourite Bonnebell lip lites in the shade Cappuccino, I am currently  trying to find the other shades in Strawberry Parfait and Cherry Berry Kiss, I'm not crazy about the metallic/extremely pearlized shades such as Cream Pop and Vanilla Swirl. However I can't deny that they smell soo good, it has a very sweet scent that  I enjoy but if you are sensitives to such smells then it would be best to skip out on much of the Lip Lites.

Here's the Bonnebell haul! I don't have enough lips for all these lip balms and lip glosses, but don't worry I'm sure my sisters will be taking some as soon as they spot them! 

Nails: Essie millionails [UPDATED]

I am currently working at two places right now and it's causing my hands to become really dry. My nails are soft and brittle, it breaks easily and it starting to peel! I was unboxing some new products to put on display and by the end o my shift all my nails either chipped or the top layer peeled off. I couldn't stand looking at my nails like that so I decided to buy the Essie millionails which is supposed to strengthen my nails. Hopefully it works. I'll update again if I notice any results!

After 4 months of use my nails have been completely restored. I used the nail hardener on a weekly basis for the first month, after that I consistently used it as a base coat. I definitely see and feel the difference. My nails are quite hard, it doesn't bend much or at all. I managed to keep my nails nice and tidy for 2 whole months without any chipping and breakage! The retail price here is about $11.99 or $7.99 on sale, which is rather pricey. As much as I love it I will continue to find less expensive alternatives! 

Sephora Black Friday haul

Black Friday isn't too crazy over here in Canada, but this year many malls decided to join in on the "Black Friday" madness to get more Canadians to stay within the country to do their shopping. I honestly didn't see many deals, Boxing day is much better. This is my second time getting my hands on the Sephora Black Friday Deals. 

The Sephora I went to opened at 10am an no lineups, because it was a stand alone store. The Sephora at Eaton Centre was open at 6am and all the sales items were gone by 9:30am. (My sister went over to check it out before making her way over to where I was)

I actually bought doubles of each.

The Scrubblet

I recently bought a pack of scrubblet a which can be found on eBay. I found out about this product from a few beauty gurus on YouTube and thought it would be interesting to try out! I tried it out today, it is very soft for the face and feels like a gentle massage! It's so small and cute too and extremely affordable! This also happens to be the exact same scrubblet that can be found in the l'oreal 360 facial wash! The wash is typically $12 here.

Some might think then packaging looks a bit weird, but it's just 2 scrubblets! The back of the package shows the instructions.

Post-Midterm Mini haul

Here is another haul from the end of October! Midterms stress me out and causes me to buy a bunch of random things, in this case beauty products. I also bought a bunch of sweaters too, nothing too special about them but I will also include a picture when I gather them together ^^

I bought more Korean make up again! They are just too cute to resist but I did my best and only bought things that I thought I would need. I bought from a different shop, they didn't include as many samples as the previous shop I bought from! (* Referring to this post Mini Korean Makeup Haul)

Skin79 Sun Protect BB Pact

I have not used it yet but once I opened it I noticed how it is slightly darker then I expected! However I didn't mind because it matches my (summer) shade! :D It definitely has a yellow tone to it!

My sister pointed out that my name was printed on the back of the tube! It is the name I placed an order with! It was definitly surprising but it was probablyt just a coincidence ^^

The Body Shop at the Eaton Centre held a special shopping event where customers went to play a game. Basically it was a game where the customer would use a puck like object and drop it in a frame and see where it lands. It will lands on a discount or special! I received a coupon that said Buy 2 Get 2 Free.

I have been dying to get body butters so I jumped at the chance! ( gave one to my friend since I wouldn't be able to finish all this)

I am using the Brazil Nut right now! It has a light smell, almost like nutella but more nutty! Doesn't feel extremely greasy and does the job! I LOVE it. I think I should have gotten 3 of those haha.

OOTD #1 (budget friendly)

This is my first outfit of the day segment! 

My casual outfit for a hot hot day (such as today). I wore a navy blue chiffon top from Costa Blanca (I'm starting to really like the clothes there), khaki shorts from Winners, braided belt from Forever 21 and my strappy black studded sandals from China.

I was introduced to these Julep Maven nail polishes through one of my friends. What caught my eye was the fact that the first introduction box can be bought for $0.01, that's right a PENNY (the original price for a boss is $19.99 + Free shipping for Mavens)! All I did was register by taking the style quiz to determine which box would suit you the best. After the quiz you will formally register by creating a password and inputting emails and such. A confirmation email should appear in your inbox shortly after sometimes it can take up to a day, that's what happened to me.  When checking out use the PENNY code to get the box for a penny! Also the best thing is that this subscription can be cancelled before the 26th/27th of each month, or skipped if you do not like the nail polish colours.

Anime North 2012

This is my first year going to Anime North, I've been wanting to go since Gr.8 (junior high), but never ended up going because of the timing of the event and I often forgot about it =__=. I knew the convention was around May but was never sure of the date. I only found out the actual date the week of the convention and thank goodness I had no work on Friday so I was actually able to go!
